Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society & Mandali

With women's empowerment as the goal, Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society & Mandali was started in 1999 in Veerasagaram village, Badangi Mandal, Vijayanagaram district, with the aim of providing welfare and social justice to women, tribals, backward classes, students, youth, and farmers. This organization, Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society & Mandali, was formed and shaped by a team of women passionate about ensuring women's self-reliance, social justice, financial independence, skill development, and sustainable livelihoods.

Core Values of DMWS & M

 Mission: To identify and work along the economically and socially deprived, the physically and mentally challenged - starting with women , so that they become educated, skilled and aware. Enable them to be self-reliant and enjoy a healthy, dignified and sustainable quality of life And to that end, act as a resource to and collaborate with other agencies - governmental or non-governmental, as well as suitably intervene in policy formulation.

 Vision: A society based on legitimate rights, equity, justice, honesty, social sensitivity and a culture of service in which all are self-reliant.

Targets: 

Target area: The target area of DMWS is Vizanagaram district in Andhra Pradesh. Target area is a very backward and drought affected one. The main occupation of the people is agriculture. The whole area is fully affected with drought and is completely dry. People depend upon rains for their cultivation. 

DMWS focused communities are predominantly rural and urban poor communities, living in Vizanagaram, Parvateepuram   districts in Andhra Pradesh. Primary focus is on the Scheduled Caste and the Schedule Tribe communities and then comes all economically backward communities from all castes.
